Cvet Préri [svet prer-ee] is a local, Kansas City based clothing line. Informed by historical and contemporary design, the resulting aesthetic is a blend of vintage and modern underpinned by a quietly playful perspective. A selection of vintage is offered alongside the collection.
Slow, ethical, and sustainable practices and production are at the core of Cvet Préri's made-to-order model. All collection pieces are manufactured locally by hand, intentionally, and with care, using fabric sourced in limited runs.
Cvet Préri was created by Michaela Knittel, a Rhode Island School of Design apparel design graduate. Translating to prairie flower in Serbian and Hungarian, the title Cvet Préri is in homage to the heritage and homelands of her grandmother and two great-grandaunts, all professional seamstresses themselves.
