  • Jewelry Care 101 

    There are many different natural and effective ways to take care of your jewelry. 

    Most of the jewelry we sell requires very little care :) We do recommend taking off your jewelry when swimming, and keeping it away from perfume, hairspray, lotion, or any chemicals! You can also store your jewelry in the SiiZU cloth bag to better protect it. Metal is very sensitive to oxygen exposure, and all jewelry is capable of tarnishing. Below are tips on how to take care of your jewelry and make it shine like brand new.

    1. USE NON-GEL TOOTHPASTE 

    Toothpaste is good for cleaning various metals. Simply put some toothpaste onto a toothbrush or you can apply it directly on the jewelry, and gently rub the tarnish part. Please note that it is best not to use this method too frequently as it can scratch your brass items over time.

    2. WARM WATER & SOAP

    This is one of the easiest methods. Simply using soap and water works perfectly to clean your jewelry. Use warm water and a small amount of liquid dish soap, use your fingers to gently scrub the surface of your jewelry with soapy water. Once you have finished scrubbing off the grime, rinse the item thoroughly until the water runs smoothly over the surface. Be sure to dry the metal well afterward. If this approach doesn’t seem to make a difference, though, there are other natural techniques that could prove more effective.

    3. LEMON JUICE

    Lemon juice is a good cleaner of light tarnish because of its acidic properties. First, pour one cup of water into a container. Squeeze half a lemon in the water. Then add and stir in a teaspoon of salt until dissolved. Leave in the juice for about 15 to 30 minutes, swish it in the liquid every now and then. You can use a soft cloth or a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently remove the tarnish until it has reached cleanliness. Wash off the item and dry completely.

    We accept returns on full price merchandise if the return is postmarked within 5 days of you receiving the item. Please send an email to dearsocietyshop@gmail.com immediately with your order number and reason for returning so we know to expect your return. 

    We do not accept returns on vintage pieces, furniture, or sale items (including flash sales). All vintage items are marked as is and stated in the correct condition. Please check measurements before purchasing. 

    You are responsible for shipping costs of the return package back to Dear Society. Once we receive the item and approve it be in restockable condition; no signs of wear, tags still attached, then we will issue a refund
